INC minister Eraño Guzman Manalo, the former executive "minister" of the iglesia ni Cristo (church of Christ) summarized the fundamental beliefs of the iglesia ni Cristo in an instructional book. And according to the 6th fundamental belief of the INC:
6. The apostasy of the Catholic Church from the Church established by Christ in the 1st century took place with their turning away from the teachings of God taught by Christ and His Apostles (Worship of Images, Mass, Popes and Priests as vicars or successors of Christ, Mediator Saints, Purgatory). Therefore, the apostasy takes place whenever there is a teaching of God the Catholic Church violates. In view of this, all the doctrines and practices of the Catholic Church should be rejected.
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fundamental_Beliefs_of_the_Iglesia_ni_CristoYou clearly saw that the iglesia ni Cristo said that "...all the doctrines and practices of the Catholic Church should be rejected." It's one of their "fundamental beliefs." For me, this is not a fundamental belief. This is a "mental belief." Why? Please skip to the next paragraph.
The Nicene Creed is the summarized doctrines of the RCC together with the Apostles' Creed (this is the shortened Nicene Creed). This is the Nicene Creed:
We believe (I believe) in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, and born of the Father before all ages. (God of God) light of light, true God of true God. Begotten not made, consubstantial to the Father, by whom all things were made. Who for us men and for oursalvation came down from heaven. And was incarnate of the Holy Ghost and of the Virgin Mary and was made man; was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, suffered and was buried; and the third day rose again according to the Scriptures. And ascended into heaven, sits at the right hand of the Father, and shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, of whose Kingdom there shall be no end. And (I believe) in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father (and the Son), who together with the Father and the Son is to be adored and glorified, who spoke by the Prophets. And one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. We confess (I confess) one baptism for the remission of sins. And we look for (I look for) the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Source: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/11049a.htmIf INC members are going to follow their fundamental beliefs/doctrines, they should become Atheists in order to follow the 6th INC fundamental belief. We believe that God exists. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father. All of those underlined is what we believe that the iglesia ni Cristo also believes. In order to follow their 6th fundamental belief, they need to become Atheists first. Their 6th fundamental belief isn't agreeing with their doctrine that they should believe in the Bible alone. This is what we call "mental beliefs" not "fundamental beliefs." This is a doctrinal failure of INC minister Eraño Guzman Manalo.
